Join artist Kara Hamilton in a conversation with writer Esmé Hogeveen about the exhibition, Kara Hamilton: Water in Two Colours, currently on view at the AGO through December 1, 2019.

Kara Hamilton studied architecture at the University of British Columbia and art at Concordia University and Yale. She has shown extensively in North America and Europe, at such spaces as Salon 94, EFA Project Space, Kate Werble Gallery, New York; Siegel House, Marfa, USA; Taut and Tame, Berlin, Germany; Tate Liverpool, Liverpool, UK; Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art, Winnipeg; Art Gallery of Ontario, Cooper Cole, G Gallery, Tatar Gallery, Toronto, Canada. She comprises one half of the curatorial team that is Kunstverein Toronto. Hamilton currently lives and works in Toronto.

Esmé Hogeveen is a writer based between Tkaronto/Toronto and Tiohtiá:ke/Montreal. She holds an MA in Critical Theory and Creative Research from the Pacific Northwest College of Art and subsequently participated in the School of Criticism and Theory program at Cornell University. She has programmed public reading series on topics including default, cyberfeminism, and lyric metaphor. Esmé is a former member of the MICE Magazine collective and is currently co-facilitating an experimental art writing group, Writing Goop, with Emma Sharpe in Tiohtiá:ke/Montreal. Her writing has appeared in C Magazine, The Brooklyn Rail, Artforum online, Another Gaze: Feminist Film Journal, GUTS: Canadian Feminist Magazine, and PUBLIC, among others.
